| Setting Up Your Dream
Sattelite TV System |
| |
| Look for an open space. No obstruction such as trees, building or any structures, etc. |
| |
| Azimuth (Magnetic): is the angle relating to the horizontal positioning of the dish. The angle is expressed in terms of degrees, with North = 0 degrees, South = 180 degrees. Use your compass to aim dish at that angle.
Elevation: is the angle above the horizon, and is also expressed in terms of degrees. This is the angle by which the dish must be "tilted Up or Down" in relation to the theoretical horizon, in order to position it precisely for the desired satellite.
LNBF Skew: It is important to adjust the LNBF skew for stationary dishes. |
| ODU Assembly: |
| Step 1. Insert LNB Arm to the satellite dish. |
Step 2. Secure the mounting base either to the wall or floor. |
| Step 3. Insert the assembled dish and LNB arm into the mounting base. |
| Step 4. Connect the coaxial cable (RG6) to the LNB. |
| |
| Antenna Dish Alignment: |
| Connect the IRD, ODU and Television set based on diagram below. Basic Connection: |
| |
| |
Note: You may temporarily connect the IRD and TV near the dish for alignment purposes only so you will see the signal while aligning the dish. Power extension cable is required. |
Double check connection of RG6 (RF) and RCA (Audio/Video) cable based on the diagram below. |

| Loss of Signal/Rain Fade |
* The satellite signal may be lost temporarily due to
unusually heavy rainfall. An optimally aligned antenna,
along with the shortest possible cable run, minimizes
the chances of “rain fade.”
* Make sure the antenna is mounted securely to prevent it
from being blown out of alignment in a heavy wind.
* Heavy snow accumulation on the LNB and the antenna may
reduce the satellite signal strength; snow should be swept
away as soon as possible.
* Tree foliage growth into antenna’s line-of-sight to the
satellite may result in gradual loss of picture. |
